Brushes and Pads for i-mop

Brushes and Pads for i-mop:When to use what?

Every floor type has its own specifications and thus require a different cleaning method.

Advising your customer about which pad or brush to use when, will create a great floor appearance, cleaner and safer floors, happy customers and extra turnover.

Did you know that we offer as many as 7 different brushes and 11 different pads for the i-mop? Find out when it's best to use what.

When do you use a brush and when do you use a pad?

You use a brush to clean textured and/or slip resistant floors and you use a pad to clean floors without a surface structure. Why? Because a pad cannot properly clean uneven surfaces. It simply cannot get into the grouts, grooves and dimples of a textured floor. You need bristles for that. That’s why the i-mop padholder (Club 4) has a specific cut including bristles to enable cleaning of structured floors with pads.

Just look at the simple illustration below. Sometimes 1 picture says more than 1,000 words.

Brushes for the i-mop

We have 7 different brushes for the i-mop, of which 1 (the medium brush) comes standard with the i-mop:

  1. Soft brush – Light duty cleaning of most floors , also suitable for sensitive floors

  2. Cleanroom brush – Cleaning of sticky matts and other cleanroom environments

  3. Natural hair brush – For rubber floors, cork floors, timber sports halls and slip resistant floors

  4. Medium brush – Everyday cleaning of most floors

  5. Hard brush – Deep cleaning of non-sensitive floors

  6. Low density medium brush – Use this brush when the standard medium brush gives too much friction, which puts a heavy load on the brush motor

  7. Low density hard brush – Use this brush when the standard hard brush gives too much friction, which puts a heavy load on the brush motor

We look at the type of floor and the type of stain when examining which brush is the best fit. In addition, the type of i-mop also helps determine the best match. In short: there are a lot of things that go into determining the best matching brush for your cleaning job.

Pads for the i-mop

We have 11 different pads for the i-mop, falling into two categories: regular pads and twister diamond pads. A good rule of thumb is to use a twister diamond pad to increase gloss or maintain the gloss level of smooth floors. Use traditional pads to clean floors without changing the visual appearance of your floor.

From there, you can choose the color that fits your cleaning need and type of floor the best.

Regular pads are available in 5 different colors:

  • White – Light buffing and polishing

  • Red – Regular buffing and light cleaning pad

  • Blue – Daily cleaning pad for all floors

  • Green – Aggressive scrubbing pad, unsealed floors

  • Black – Very aggressive scrubbing and stripping

Chemical free daily cleaning

Twister diamond pads are available in 5 different colors and can be used for chemical free daily cleaning or renovation:

  • Green – Daily cleaning of all floors in moderate traffic areas to maintain or create high gloss and cleanliness.

  • Pink – Daily cleaning of uncoated floors in high traffic areas to maintain brilliance and cleanliness.

  • Blue – Daily cleaning of uncoated floors in high traffic areas to maintain high gloss and cleanliness.

  • Orange – Daily cleaning of ceramic tiles to maintain gloss and cleanliness.
