Frequently asked questions about the i-mop family
-
Microban is a built-in antimicrobial technology that helps prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew on the product.
-
Yes, the i-mop family is designed for commercial and industrial environments. The i-mop Lite is ideal for small to medium-sized spaces like offices and retail stores. The i-mop XL Basic is perfect for larger, high-traffic areas such as healthcare facilities or educational institutions. The i-mop XL Pro features an anti-corrosion coating, making it especially suited for wellness centers and pool areas. The i-mop XXL is engineered for large-scale cleaning in expansive spaces like airports and public buildings.
-
The i-mop scrubber dryers, including the Lite, XL, XL Pro, and XXL models, are designed for cleaning a wide range of hard floors, including wood (solid, engineered, laminate, parquet), vinyl (LVT, LVP), stone (tile, slate, granite), and concrete. Each model is tailored to different environments, from small offices to large industrial spaces.
-
The i-mop should always be placed in the storage position (with the machine standing on its wheels) after cleaning to prevent pressure on the brushes and ensure longevity. While the parking position keeps the i-mop upright for quick tasks, it is not meant for storage and should not be used for extended breaks. Before storing, make sure to empty the i-mop tanks.
-
You can use water or a non-foaming cleaning agent. Avoid foaming cleaning agents, as they may clog the clean water filter. For optimal performance, we recommend using the i-dose system—cleaning detergent capsules that ensure precise dosing and are EU EcoLabel-certified. We offer three types of pods: for general cleaning, degreasing, and restroom cleaning. If you choose to use a different detergent, make sure to consult the i-mop manual for chemical compatibility and usage guidelines. Learn more on the i-dose page.
-
The i-mop requires daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance. For daily maintenance, rinse the solution tank, recovery tank, and filter system with water. Clean the brushes, squeegee, splash guards, and wipe the bottom of the machine.
Weekly maintenance involves checking the condition of the brushes, splash guards, squeegee, and wheels for wear, cleaning the vacuum hose, and checking for leaks. Also, inspect the solution tank filter for blockages and soap residue. Monthly maintenance includes cleaning the exterior with a dry cloth, as well as cleaning the brush deck and water nozzles. Be sure to fully recharge the batteries. All of the above steps ensure the i-mop remains in perfect working condition.
-
Yes, you can easily replace the brushes and squeegees on the i-mop yourself. To know when to replace the brushes, check the yellow indicator on them. If the brushes are worn down past the yellow line, they should be replaced. Similarly, if the squeegee blades are misaligned or broken, they should be replaced to ensure optimal cleaning results.
-
We recommend using room temperature water when cleaning with the i-mop. Avoid hot water, as it may affect the performance of the i-mop components.
-
Stand directly behind the i-mop, keeping it centered in front of you. This gives you a clear view of the cleaning path. Move your whole body with the machine, turning together as one unit. This technique reduces strain and improves cleaning performance.
-
Always grasp the handles with both hands. This gives you better control of the i-mop and keeps your wrists straight, which reduces strain. The handles are positioned at hip height to support an upright posture, which is better for the back muscles.
